Aftercare

First 24 hours:

-
Apply a cool compress every 2-4 hrs for 10-15 mins at a time to help reduce discomfort and inflammation
-
If treated on arms or legs, elevate the area to help reduce any swelling
-
Clean the area gently with mild unscented soap and water, then pat the area dry
-
Bandage can be removed after 4-8 hours
-
You may take paracetamol to help reduce discomfort but avoid aspirin as it can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding
-
If blisters occur, try not to pop them and treat with small amounts of bepanthen. Keep covered when possible, with non-adherent dressings
-
Use aloe vera for the first 24 hrs

Next 7 days:

-
Wear sunblock with at least over SPF 50+ on the area for 4 weeks following treatment
-
Avoid itching and scratching while healing. You may apply a thin coating of Bepanthen/Pawpaw up to 3 times a day for 3 days. After one week replace Bepanthen with moisturiser.
-
Exercise is generally safe after 48 hours of treatment, considering the proper after care has been followed. However, avoid training the treated area.
-
Hot tub, swimming pools, sauna and any form of soaking is not recommended until healed.
-
Avoid contact sports (Jiu jitsu, Muay Thai) until the area is healed to avoid staph infection.
-
Shaving should be avoided in the area until healed.
-
Do not put makeup, cream or any medication for 48 hours on or near the treated area unless recommended to you
