You will need to wait at least 6-8 weeks in between sessions to allow time for the skin to heal. But leaving it longer will not affect the process at all.
Essentially, the ink is breaking down in the subsequent weeks after treatment. Therefore, it is important to allow time for the tattoo and skin to heal.
A laser machine is used to shatter and vibrate ink into minute particles where it can be broken down by the lymphatic system. After going through multiple sessions, the tattoo fades and will ultimately be removed from the skin.
